On Jan 7, 2014, Epstein's schedule shows: 4:30-7pm Ariane de Rothschild, 6pm TENTATIVE Jes Staley, and TBD Leon Black (if Ariane goes to show). This triangulates three of Epstein's most significant financial relationships in a single evening. Staley was JPMorgan's key Epstein banker. Ariane and Epstein discussed Apollo repeatedly (Jun 27, 2016: 'What is Apollo going to do in London?'; Jan 14, 2016: Marc Rowen (Apollo) met with Ariane at 71st).

EFTA02718592 (Jul 30-31, 2015) reveals Epstein negotiating consulting agreement with EdR before DOJ meeting: 'I would like to get an agreement, though I know the logistics are complex, before the DOJ meeting which is now set for Aug 27. Ariane suggested it would be you and Emmanuel to go to Luxembourg for a review. Kathy is going to Africa sat and can bring documents.' This predates the Oct 2015 formal 25M Southern Trust agreement. Epstein was inserting himself as DOJ intermediary.

Ariane de Rothschild (CEO, Edmond de Rothschild) was actively discussing 1MDB-related regulatory exposure with Epstein throughout 2015-2016. On Jun 24 2016, she told Epstein she was 'preparing meeting for next week at CSSF about 1MDB.' Epstein was advising her on strategy: suggesting she give 'kathy [Ruemmler] point authority on luxembourg' for 'dealing with justice, regulators, internal and pr' (Mar 19 2016). When DOJ seized 1MDB-linked Malaysian assets (Jul 20 2016), Epstein sent the NYT article and warned about 'perception' of Ariane leaving for Africa while 'doj guys think this is the beginning.' Ariane replied the Lux board was 'discussing with lawyers.' Epstein described the situation: 'hundreds of millions of dollars were illegally washed (in their opinion).' Police raided Edmond de Rothschild Bank Luxembourg on Jun 29 2016.

On June 27, 2016, Ariane told Epstein: 'Brexit will give me the excuse to downsize & clean deeper. Get rid of those people who have kept bad values. We re ready for Lux remediation plan - is presented to CSSF wednesday and we can implement it from there. I have the new CEO - Bernard Coucke from ING - Also cleaning Lux board.' Epstein responded discussing Leon Black in China, Luxembourg boost, and advised 'your brand has gone up in value..untouched by brexit.' This shows Epstein as strategic advisor on EdR governance restructuring.

Epstein and Ariane had an extensive personal relationship spanning 2013-2019. Key meetings: breakfast at 9 E 71st (Sep 23, 2013), 4:30-7pm appt (Jan 7, 2014), 3pm w/Kathy Ruemmler joining (Jan 14, 2016), lunch Jan 31 2018 w/Ruemmler, 6pm May 8 2018, and 9am May 10 2018. Epstein ordered a hoverboard for her daughter (Jun 2016), sent gift to Alice de Rothschild (Feb 2018). On Oct 25, 2017, Ariane and Karyna Shuliak toured 854 5th Ave with Epstein.

Epstein introduced EdR executive Olivier Colom to Sultan Bin Sulayem on Oct 14, 2013: 'sultan -- olivier. oliver sultan.' This one-line introduction email to Colom's EdR address (o.colom@edr.com) connects Epstein's Gulf network to the Rothschild bank. Colom was a frequent contact -- breakfast with Ariane at 9 E 71st (Sep 23, 2013), lunch with Josh Ramo and Joi Ito, multiple visits 2013-2017. Colom left EdR June 2016 (auto-reply: 'a quitte Le Groupe Edmond de Rothschild').

Colom told Epstein 'We had fun with Ariane this week. She talked everyday about you and the advice you gave her last Sunday. And her mum likes you as well' (Oct 18, 2013). Colom also noted 'Castelbajac has his showroom next door to my new apartment. Have already seen some models come and go - to your liking I think.' Colom asked about Leah Pisar (daughter of Samuel Pisar, Clinton WH connection, lives in Paris), Epstein replied 'no, I assume she clever not cute.' This reveals Colom screening women for Epstein while simultaneously acting as EdR intermediary to Ariane.

EdR executive Olivier Colom emailed Epstein (Nov 18, 2013) from his EdR address: 'told me about your dinner at Robuchon. Understand our judge may go see your friend. Honestly don't know if it's at your friend's level...does he have an assistant or an associate, it would be more appropriate. Otherwise, want to see my friend member of European Parliament?' This shows Colom acting as intermediary for judicial and political introductions, referencing 'our judge' and a 'friend' in the European Parliament -- suggests EdR had political/judicial channels it shared with Epstein.

Ariane had dinner with Ruemmler in NYC on Mar 10-11, 2017 (EFTA02350104: 'We re having dinner with Kathy'). On Jan 31, 2018, Ariane had lunch with both Epstein and Ruemmler at 9 E 71st (EFTA02236711). On Jan 14, 2016, the schedule shows: 3pm Ariane and Cynthia Tobiano, 3:30pm Kathy Ruemmler joins, 3:45pm Marc Rowen (Apollo) and Miran Siddiqui join with Ariane and Cynthia. This places Ruemmler as the legal bridge between Epstein, EdR bank, and Apollo Global.

Epstein and Ariane discussed marital tensions with Benjamin de Rothschild. Epstein told Ruemmler: 'ariane said ben giving her a very hard time, and did not know about tattoo.' Ariane said Benjamin 'wants her to do wife like things.' Ruemmler responded 'Barf.' In the same thread (Feb 25, 2018), Epstein proposed: 'do you think Bill Clinton would like to join you me ehud and steve.? could be very funny, all off the record' -- suggesting a private meeting of Clinton, Barak, and Bannon.

Dropsite News (Nov 2025) established the critical nexus: Southern Trust Company (the same entity in the $25M EdR agreement) was simultaneously used to fund Reporty/Carbyne (Barak's Israeli cyberweapons startup). Epstein brokered the Barak-Ariane introduction (Nov 18 2013), with Ariane telling Epstein: 'if Ehud wants to make serious money, he will have to build a relationship with me.' Barak reported meeting Boris Collardi (Julius Baer CEO) in Monaco Apr 29 2016 as 'ready' with 'assured discreetness.' Epstein subject line 'ruemmler, leon, mort, rosvky, ariane ??\!\!' (May 26, 2015, EFTA02718629) groups Ariane de Rothschild with Kathy Ruemmler, Leon Black, Mort Zuckerman, and Rosvky in what appears to be a planning/frustration message. This places Ariane in Epstein's top-tier inner circle alongside his most important financial and legal contacts.

Ariane forwarded to Epstein a private email from Jacob Rothschild to the family (Sep 16, 2015) about the 'Rothschild Name' dispute -- objecting to Paris Orleans changing its name to Rothschild & Co. Ariane forwarded it with 'Can u believe this b-s\!\!\!' Epstein then advised on strategy: 'cloud market perception, confuse public... difficult to say that it inflicts damage?? to who?' This shows Epstein advising on intra-Rothschild family governance disputes.

On Oct 1, 2015, Ariane de Rothschild sent Epstein the Sarawak Report article on Aabar/1MDB ('The Real Wolves of Wall Street - The Boys from Aabar'). When Epstein then sent her the Malaysia Chronicle article on Jho Low and Aabar's sacked chief Khadem al-Qubaisi, Ariane replied 'Yes that s why I m so worried.' This exchange 8 months before the police raid shows Ariane was already concerned about 1MDB exposure and sharing intelligence with Epstein.

Epstein immediately forwarded Ariane's police raid email to Kathy Ruemmler with just 'go' (EFTA02459040), telling Ariane 'where are you, better get kathy involved ASAP' (EFTA02459026). Ruemmler was Epstein's fixer and former White House Counsel. This reveals Epstein was actively managing EdR's 1MDB crisis response and deploying his legal network.

On Mar 18, 2016, Epstein told Ruemmler: 'preppy had his bail revoked, you nailed it. have you seen [Sarawak Report: another-bank-new-york-mellon-swims-into-frame-as-1mdb-aabar-scandal-unravels].' This shows Epstein tracking BNY Mellon's 1MDB exposure months before EdR was raided, and sharing Sarawak Report intelligence with Ruemmler. Combined with Ariane's direct CSSF/1MDB updates, Epstein had multi-source intelligence on the 1MDB investigation's bank targets.

Ariane de Rothschild communicated directly with Epstein about 1MDB investigation in real-time. On Jun 24, 2016: 'preparing meeting for next week at CSSF about 1MDB' (Luxembourg regulator). On Jul 20, 2016: 'In Lux board now discussing with lawyers' same day NYT published DOJ asset seizure story. Edmond de Rothschild bank was itself under 1MDB probe — DOJ later filed civil forfeiture (2:20-cv-05912 CACD) for 1MDB funds in EdR accounts 0610 and 1751.

Ariane de Rothschild directly told Epstein she was 'preparing meeting for next week at CSSF about 1MDB' on June 24, 2016. The CSSF (Commission de surveillance du secteur financier) is Luxembourg's financial regulator. This proves Epstein had real-time insider knowledge of EdR's regulatory crisis management during the 1MDB investigation.

On June 29, 2016, Ariane emailed Epstein with subject 'Luxembourg': 'Shit is hitting the fan. Police throughout the bank - full bk search with people locked and not allowed to get out. Cynthia & Emmanuel at the same time presenting the remediation plan to CSSF.' This was the day of the 90-officer police raid on EdR Luxembourg.

On July 20, 2016, Ariane told Epstein 'In Lux board now discussing with lawyers' after he sent her the NYT 1MDB DOJ seizure article. Epstein warned 'you might want to be sensitive to the perception of you leaving, for africa, when the doj, guys think this is the beginning.' When Ariane said 'If I dont go, I die,' Epstein replied 'understood.' Later that day, Ariane confirmed Kathy Ruemmler was working on it: 'I have 3 of the top Lux law firms working for us + Yves + Kathy on all angles.'

On Sep 2, 2016, Kathy Ruemmler sent Epstein the Sarawak Report article '90 Federal Police Officers Raided Edmond de Rothschild Bank\! How Aabar Scandal Could Dwarf 1MDB.' Epstein replied 'I Toobin, 2 griffin. I am in tues thru thurs, bring him by.' Ruemmler responded '4 and most important: I am proud to know you, and very proud you are my friend.' This shows Ruemmler tracking EdR/1MDB developments and reporting to Epstein.

Epstein recruited senior executives for EdR. On Nov 11, 2016, he told Ariane: 'met a really interesting banker for you to meet, former CFO Deutsche Bank, former CFO BMW, German, born in South America.' Ariane replied: 'Brilliant, but I was told his wife didn t want to move from London esp not Geneva. Do you mind asking him?' On Feb 19, 2017, Epstein met Ariane in Megeve (French Alps), telling her: 'everyone in govt wanting an explanation of trump. SO MUCH FUN' -- positioning himself as Trump-whisperer for European elite.

Edmond de Rothschild Foundation (EIN 13-6119422) is registered in New York as a nonprofit. This is the same Rothschild holding structure (Rue de Hesse 18, Geneva) whose assistant Fanny Pasquier (assistant to Baron and Baroness Benjamin de Rothschild) communicated with Epstein's staff about gifts for Alice de Rothschild at NYU (Feb 2018, EFTA02238783). Benjamin de Rothschild (Ariane's husband) was the controlling shareholder of EdR Group until his death in Jan 2021, after which Ariane became chair.

Per Dropsite News and Wall Street Journal reporting (Nov 2025), Epstein pursued Ariane de Rothschild to finance Israeli cyberweapons startups connected to Ehud Barak. Southern Trust Company (the same entity in the 25M EdR agreement) was used to fund Reporty/Carbyne. The payment structure of the 25M agreement was contingent on EdR completing its payment to US authorities re 1MDB -- suggesting Epstein extracted a fee for his DOJ advisory/intermediary role.
