On Mar 30 2015, Thomas sent Epstein wire instructions for a TD Bank account in the name of Ricardo O Gorman Garden and Center for Resources and Humanities -- a Harlem Montessori preschool for at-risk children (EIN 13-4061835). Epstein immediately forwarded these to Richard Kahn with the instruction: 10k from foundation. This was a separate payment from the 30K Gratitude America payment in Aug 2017, bringing total confirmed Epstein-directed payments to Thomas charity to at least 40K.

Landon Thomas Jr (NYT financial reporter, landont@nytimes.com, personal: landonthomasjr63@gmail.com) maintained 185-email correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein spanning 2007-2019. Thomas wrote the 2002 New York Magazine profile that became the defining piece on Epstein. Post-conviction, Thomas pitched an NYT interview allowing Epstein to define the story on your terms. The relationship was deeply reciprocal: Thomas provided advance intelligence on journalists investigating Epstein, market analysis, and Wall Street gossip. Thomas served as Epstein media early warning system and reputation consultant. Sep 2009: Thomas was invited to Zorro Ranch for a story visit (EFTA02436362: Santa Fe). Epstein used Thomas as de facto PR advisor: asked Thomas to review Rothstein press draft (Dec 2009), asked Alexandra Wolfe (Tom Wolfes daughter) to call Thomas off the record for comments on profile piece (Mar 2011). Thomas alerted Epstein to Politico article on Acosta-Epstein plea deal (Feb 2017). Thomas asked about David Boies/Weinstein connection (Nov 2017). Oct 2017: Thomas asked Did you go to Saudi? (during MBS purge). Thomas asked Epstein How are you holding up? (Nov 2018) and contemplated next career steps asking Epstein for ideas and inspiration (June-July 2017).

Epstein used Thomas as conduit to Jes Staley at JPMorgan/Barclays. Epstein forwarded Thomas financial analysis directly to Staley (EFTA01300573: keep confidential nytimes, May 2010). Epstein forwarded Thomas NYT article ideas to Staley (EFTA01300609: new york times Thinkers piece). Thomas and Staley were in three-way email threads with Epstein discussing Barclays CEO succession (Aug 2012): Thomas provided inside reporting that David Walker was choosing Jenkins over Staley. Epstein told Thomas: as you already know the name is anthony jenkins. the story you should look at is david walker is choosing jenkins. Thomas later covered Staley departure from Barclays (Aug 2017 EFTA02349874).

Thomas tipped off Epstein about journalist John Connolly doing a book on him (with James Patterson). Nov 13 2015: Thomas emailed Epstein He says he is doing a book on you -- with James Patterson no less. Thomas then told Connolly Epstein was a hell of a guy. Thomas also warned Epstein when Connolly was digging around again about why you hired Ken Starr. Additionally, on May 8 2018 after the Schneiderman resignation, Thomas asked Epstein: What about that other story involving a pretty senior newspaper personality? Dropped? -- suggesting knowledge of unreported allegations about a media figure.

Thomas provided Epstein with Trump intelligence and received Trump dirt in return. Dec 8 2015: Epstein offered photos of donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen then hawaiin tropic girl lauren petrella. May 2016: Thomas told Epstein I am kind of shocked that our reporters did not contact you re the Trump women story. He seems to have got off rather lightly and offered to pass information to a political reporter. Thomas asked Epstein about Trump Wall Street finance supporters (Jun 2016). Oct 2016: Thomas asked about Saudi money and shared Trump election analysis. Dec 2017: Thomas asked about Jamie Dimon harassment rumors and Epstein replied: Jamie, gates Michael Douglas, gagosian. Mar 2017: Trump retweeted Thomas NYT story, Thomas told Epstein: I think my wife is going to change the locks.

Thomas explicitly traded NYT coverage for access to Epstein network. On Oct 17 2016, Thomas emailed Epstein: does my story on Abraaj get me a meeting with Gates next time he is in town. On Jan 3 2017, Thomas told Epstein he was doing a story on the new SoftBank tech fund and tried to arrange Epstein intro to Masa/SoftBank. On Apr 21 2017, Thomas asked: So if I offer up to Masas bankers a meeting with Nathan would he agree to it. On Mar 3 2017, Thomas sent his published NYT article on Masayoshi Son. On Mar 9 2017, Thomas wrote: Trying to get you in with Masa crowd. Some resistance though due to all the headlines/controversy. I tell them about your relationship with Saudis/Gates/Trump crowd but still doubts. Working on it.

Landon Thomas (NYT reporter) asked Epstein Oct 19, 2016 about Saudi money flows for NYT investigation: 'I have been called in to help on a big NYT investigation into how low oil prices have been effecting the personal finances of royal family in Saudi Arabia.' Epstein responded with institutional knowledge: 'most of the saudi money is tied up in pe funds. no withdrawals allowed. and im not seeing much in the secondary market.' This exchange occurred 3 weeks before Epstein's Nov 7-10 Riyadh trip, establishing his active Saudi financial intelligence.

Thomas reported Larry Summers activity at NYT to Epstein. Oct 3 2018: Thomas emailed Epstein: Larry Summers in house... Holding forth in a packed conference room of NYT journalists. I was not invited. Epstein replied: you are too important. This reveals Thomas reported on internal NYT newsroom events to Epstein and that Summers had a speaking role at the NYT. The fact Thomas was not invited suggests editorial awareness of his compromised status by late 2018.

Landon Thomas Jr transactional relationship with Epstein per Volscho: 2002 NY Mag profile rushed out to preempt Ward VF investigation. Thomas later at NYT, fired 2019 for soliciting Epstein donations for charter school (NPR/Folkenflik). House Oversight Nov 2025 release includes 2015 email exchange with Epstein exchanging tips re Trump and photos. Volscho characterizes Thomas as one of several reporters with whom Epstein had transactional/collusion-style relationships — something elite sex traffickers have that ordinary offenders do not. NY Mag profile contained signalling phrases like Russian ladies of the night sourced from Maxwell friends.
